Mitchelstown Coursing

Coursing Previews 2014/15

All Age Cup

The all age cup in Mitchelstown sees many runners trying their luck to gain a valuable 4 points. The cup will have one round run on Monday 8th December with 8 left for Tuesday to fight it out. Monday should see the following dogs progress. Swift Escalade is a fast track bred dog who won a stake in Waterford before nearly claiming the all age stake in Killimer at the end of November. He should go through here to set up a 2nd round clash with Hughs Comet. Hughs comet has a similiar profile to Swift in that he also won a duffer stake this year. The next course sees the ever consistent cuine boy and he should have too much power in his course to set up a clash tuesday morning with high rise. High rise is a quick dog on his day and with the kennel in good form, he should get the better of Pumpkin castle.
The bottom half is tight with many dogs fancying their chances. Shift the mania might just squeeze through against bobbyonthe bank but will find bango malone a different proposition. This fella has super speed and is related to alot of fast dogs. He ran up in Enniscorthy after posting some very fast clocks. He is my idea of the likely semi-finalist here. My idea of his opponent in the semi-final is David is happy. He reappeared in Ardpatrick and was unlucky against Charleville winner Lochbo Benny in the opening round. He should win his 2 courses but I feel will find Bango too hot to handle and indeed im picking Bango Malone to win and get rid of his maiden tag here.

What a legacy.
Beaten in the final of a 64 in Listowel. Should improve a lot from that outing. Owned by the Mc Manus family and trained by Jimmy Mulcahy. Litter brother to Leg It Fast, a trial stake winner in Rathkeale for the same connections. This fella will have a major chance in this trial stake.

Stallone Ben
Has only had two outings and reached the semi finals on both occasions. Clocks up very fast in the early rounds. Which was very evident in Limerick City as he clocked fasted by a long way in round one. With his early pace this field should suit him down to the ground. And he should progress to meet What A Legacy in round three.

Blue steel
A semi finalist from charleville, in which he was very narrowly beaten. A pacey hound. Coming all the way from Monaghan. Connections collected an all age bitch with his half sister Rossmore recently so coming from a kennel in form and will be amongst the fancies in this trial stake.

Vacume on his way
Improving as the year goes on. Clocking very fast. Has had four outings. His beat form was reaching the third round in Bandon. If he continues this upward curve he will have a big chance in this trial stake.

Moorstown Sminky
Contests the less competitive bottom half and has shown the best form. Won two rounds recently all the way up in East Donegal. Clocked ok so will have a big chance of reaching the final from his draw.

SpeakEasy Foley
Another in the bottom half who has shown some form by winning two rounds in Castleisland. Between himself and Moorstown to reach the final from the bottom half I'd imagine.

Missouri Spruce
Fast dog who reached the semi final of carlow where the winner had to come from behind to beat him 1 length in the semi final. He will likely have a bye in the opening round and will prove hard to beat as he goes on.
