Edenderry – All Age cup

Edenderry has managed to attract some quality names to its annual meeting . A fine coursing stretch, word has it that they have the field in prime condition. The all age cup is the hottest of the weekend with some notable names present. Kilkeale hero is the first name off the list that catches my eye. A member of an incredible litter, Kilkeale won his TS here 2 years ago while also winning the troy electrical puppy cup in Kilcullen before being beaten in the semi final of the Derby. Last year he only ran twice with 2 successes, winning the cup here and in Rathkeale. Edenderry clearly is a happy hunting ground with 9 successful courses. He should win his first round and probably set up a buckle with either Coshair Bosco or Blueview Charlie. Coshair Bosco has a liking to a long stretch so this field should hold no problems; however he is meeting one of the talking pups from the early part of last year, Blueview Charlie. Beaten in the final of the TS in Galway last year, Charlie put in some sensational clocks. He was beat by Wheres Cranny in the final however many people expressed that it wouldn’t be ling until he picked up his ticket. As coursing goes this is never easy and he only ran once afterwards where he was beat in the second round. Something was clearly amiss afterwards as he never resurfaced after being entered in both Dundalk and the Tipperary meeting. You have to take his well-being on trust here but Kilkeale may have too much for the winner of the course either way. Game miller looks the dog to progress to the semi-final in the second section of the half. He is the only dog with a win to his name and really flies in the early rounds.
Similar to the top half, the top dogs seem to be clustered together in a ¼. The bottom quarter sees Crafty Boohoo, Newry Awake and central investor Central investor is probably going to open up favourite and so he should. He was exceptionally fast pup last year winning the TS here and was beat in the 3 rd round of the Derby by ValeView Flyer. He was one of the favourites going into the 3 rd round so was clearly excelling with the clockmen. Crafty Boohoo won first time out in Trim last year and won 2 rounds of both the Derby and Irish cup. He is very fast away and stays on strongly. He meets Newry Awake in the first round. The northern dog won his TS 2 years ago in Ballymena but didn’t show much in his all age career losing in the first round in Kilcullen while winning one round in Enniscorthy. I think Crafty will progress to Sunday here to set up a clash with Central and I think the winner of this buckle will decide the winner come Sunday evening with Kilkeale the likely finalist
