Charleville – All Age Cup

The all age event in Charleville is a prestigious event and has attracted a few interesting runners. Word has it that trials went well so preparations for their annual meeting have gone well. The first course should go to Killeagh Jingles. A fast greyhound who ran well as a puppy. He was bought after winning his TS in Kilflynn and has given connections great fun over the past year. His owners have recently been in the winners enclosure where they won the Derby TS during the week. Dave Casey and his family are excellent supporters of the coursing game so their success is well deserved. Killeagh should win this buckle and set up a tough 2 nd round with Cooga Mafi. A winner of his local in Tipperary last year, Cooga Mafi has been defeated by narrow margins against Mr Blonde in Glin and Regional winner Power of Peace in the 2 nd round. I think the red collar might swing it for Killeagh if they meet.
The bottom part of the first half should see Kilimor Dash progress to the semi-final. He has disappointed since winning his TS last year but should hold too much for the other 3 runners although worldwide swank is a fast dog that will get it all together some day. Knockrour Jazz is the standout runner in the bottom half. He won his TS here last year first time out and more recently won two rounds of the all age stake in Ballyheigue. He was beat a couple lengths there so will need to improve from that outing but I’m sure he will. I am picking Lochbo Benny to meet him in the semi-final. He won the cork derby last year in Clonakilty but I think he will fall short here. He was a length clear last week but went offline and rumour has it that his eyesight lets him down at times. This field can catch a few dogs out so he will need to sight his game in all 4 courses.
My idea of the last 4 are Killeagh Jingles, Killimor Dash, Knockrour Jazz and Lochbo Benny will my overall vote going to Killeagh Jingles from Knockrour Jazz.
